Firm Files Federal Lawsuit for Trademark Infringement Against Panhandle Property Owners

By Weisbart Springer Hayes

The firm is pursing litigation on behalf of the partnership that purchased the 37,000-acre Mesa Vista Ranch from the estate of the late T. Boone Pickens last year. The lawsuit filed in federal court in Amarillo alleges that another real estate group is unlawfully using the same name and infringing on the Mesa Vista Ranch trademarks in marketing an adjacent property.

“The great ranches across America have proven time and time again the value of these trademarks and ranch legacies, and it’s an honor to help preserve the Mesa Vista Ranch’s name, mark, and goodwill.”

WSH has issued a news release about the claims, and the filed complaint can be found here. The case has attracted media attention from outlets that include The Dallas Morning News, Law360 (subscription required) and The Real Deal.
